RE: Beware "CNN.com Daily Top 10" Emails; Actually Malware
My internet provider's spam filter has actually been catching these CNN ones, but there are some others that look to be from MSN that have been getting through to my email program. When I felt they were suspicious, I just hovered the mouse over the link and saw that the link leads to some obscure website that is not MSN and also leads to an executable program file. Some of them say it is an update to Internet Explorer, others had different messages but I can't recall now what. So beware also of emails that "appear" to be from MSN!! ... View related article.

RE: Angel Food Ministries Recipe Ideas
Here's another site I found recently!

http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/angelfood/

You know, I am totally loving getting this food. With the rising costs in fuel here lately and the increase in grocery costs that follow, these boxes, and especially the meat specials are saving our family alot of money. If you haven't checked out AFM, you should! It really helps! I am spending WAY less at the grocery store these days and mostly it's for produce and dairy - lately the boxes have even been having eggs and milk and the last two months, they have been offering a produce and fruit box too! Really, check it out - this is not a charity ... it's almost like a co-op. ... View related article.

RE: Angel Food Ministries Recipe Ideas
I have found that many of the host sites do put up recipes each month. Do a google search using "Angel Food Ministries Recipe Ideas" or something like that and you should get some sites. Here's a link for one of them with April 2008 box ideas.

RE: Never Fail Hard Boiled Eggs
Yes, use ice! If you drain your cooked eggs and immediately top the pot with some ice cubes and cold water, it will stop the cooking process, you'll have prettier yolks and it seems to also help with peeling them. ... View related article.

RE: Fixing Fudge That Didn't Set
I had a similar experience today. I have never made fudge until today, and I wanted to use an old fashioned Hershey's original fudge recipe - without marshmallow in it and without using any shortcuts. Just sugar, whole milk, butter, vanilla and cocoa. Of course, it was a damp & rainy evening - I'm always up for a challenge lol... I had let it go slightly above the soft ball stage the recipe called for, but once I went to whip it it was not getting thick. Not knowing exactly what it was supposed to look like, I poured it in the pan anyway and then found that it just would not set. I even tried to set it in the freezer and when that did nothing, I took it straight from the freezer, scraped it back into a pot - this time a smaller pot than before - and brought it back up to a boil - yes, I did this even though the nuts and the vanilla had already been added. This time, I brought it to just under hard ball stage and then instead of cooling it in the pot it cooked in, I poured it out of the pot onto a big cookie sheet that I had placed on a cooling rack which was on top of a towel to protect my countertop. I did not wait for it to cool - I immediately starting pushing it around and back and forth on the sheet using a wooden spatula until it began to thicken nicely. I poured it into the buttered 8 x 8 pan and it began to set immediately. It turned out great - so, though this may not be timely to help you, if anyone runs across this problem, well, don't give up! ... View related article.

RE: Peanut Butter Fudge Not Hardening

Just sugar, whole milk, butter, vanilla and cocoa. Of course, it was a damp & rainy evening - I'm always up for a challenge lol... Now since the fudge I made was cocoa based, not peanut butter I don't know if that would make a difference. Anyway, I had let it go slightly above the soft ball stage the recipe called for, but once I went to whip it it was not getting thick. Not knowing exactly what it was supposed to look like, I poured it in the pan anyway and then found that it just would not set. RE: Cleaning Plastic Dish Strainer
And why should you buy a new one when you have one that is perfectly fine? I say run a sink of hot water and soak it, even if you have to do it one end at a time. If this doesn't loosen the soap scum enough to wipe it free, then take a scrub brush to it. ... View related article.

RE: Something is Burrowing Holes in My Deck
Yep, it is a carpenter bee - NOT a bumble bee. There is a difference. Do an internet search on how to treat for them. If you can catch them early, you should be able to get rid of them. Generally, they attack new, unpainted wood. If you don't get them under control, they will create massive damage by burrowing up into the wood to lay eggs. Plugging the holes will not work, unless you first lay in poison inside the hole because they will simply lay eggs and then they and the babies will burrow out another way. ... View related article.
