That would make beautiful wedding reception table pieces. I'm thinking spray paint the holders white or other wedding color, maybe even add some ribbon streamers. Using styrofoam, you could cut into the top and add a small candle holder and insert a taper. Not suggesting lighting it unless the flowers could be arranged so no wax hits them or the candle wouldn't touch them when it burns down though. With so many people looking to decorate cheaply, this would be fantastic! Lovely idea! ... View related article. |

I LOVE these for gardening. I keep them at home and in our school's garden cottage eclusively for gettin' dirty in the garden. With alot of use, they can retain some discoloration from the dirt but then you can just scrub them up a bit with dish soap, rinse off and good as new. Happy gardening! ... View related article. |

| RE: Watering Bamboo Sticks |

Are you talking about the living plant bamboo or about the hollow rods you would use for supporting garden plants? If it is the rods, then no. They are dead "trunks" of the bamboo. For the actual plant, I have tons in my house. I arrange in pretty glass pitchers and bowls and put those cute glass stones from the dollar stores around them for support. I pour alot of water in them and let it soak up and evaporate. I usually water every two weeks or so and never have to bother with them. Just enjoy. I have at least six bowls of bamboo and some of it has grown from 6 inch shoots when I purchased it to near two feet tall now. ... View related article. |

| RE: How Much To Charge For Glass Block Decorations? |
I think this really differs according to your region. I am in the northwest part of lower Michigan and have seen them from $10 to $30. Our PTO sponsored a craft show the first of October and had two vendors selling them. One hand painted hers and priced them at $30. The other used fabric cutouts and there was minimal handcrafting. She priced hers at $15. Check out local craft fairs or post this question on a more localized crafts board or group and I think you'll get better info about pricing. ... View related article. |

| RE: Dollhouse from Recycled Items |

Oh my gosh! You just brought back so many childhood memories for me. I built a house for my Barbie. It sat on the floor of an open closet and I designed, decorated and redecorated it many times over the years. We used to have a wood burning stove, so my mom used alot of matches that came in those great little boxes. Boy, those were great for making all kinds of furnishing. Looking at all your pics reminded me of all the little "finds" I used for the house. Thanks so much for sharing and here's to many more fun times completing your house. ... View related article. |

| RE: Movie Night Craft Ideas |
Hi there. Thanks for being an involved mom and planning a movie night. I have organized it for four years now for our PTA and it has always been a smashing success. Here's the key...simplicity. Our kids are k through 5 and they are climbing the walls by mid point of the movie. I couldn't imagine extending the time by having a craft also. Perhaps some kind of a craft in a bag, that includes directions, for them to take home. But, not at the site. I would be more than willing to share out set up, tips etc if you would like. Just email me at debbieomi AT hotmail.com. Good luck! ... View related article. |
