| RE: Hysterectomy Advice |
Every one is an individual so don't let the ones that had a bad time scare you. Many years ago I had a total hysterectomy due to endometrial cancer & it was abdominal. I was very fortunate that my husband took a week off from work to be with me when I came home. When I got up in the morning I bathed & then made breakfast & tidied up. He was with me as I went down 1 flight of stairs to do laundry & I even hung the laundry outside on the clothesline. Then I rested on the couch either reading, watching tv, talking with friends on the phone or taking a nap.
At lunchtime I repeated the morning ritual & then rested again & took a nap. Mealtime @ dinner time was repeated & then after enjoying the evening by resting again bedtime came. I never needed any pain medication as I had no pain. Your Dr. will prescribe pain medication should you need it. Don't hesitate taking it if you need it. I made sure that my nutrition was good. With my husband close to me I took a little walk every day in my yard. I did not do any heavy lifting nor any vacuuming until I got the ok @ my 1 month check up. Company was kept to a minimal of family & an occasional close friend. You may be able to do more or even less. You have to take one day @ a time & use common sense.
I hope you are able to have some one to help you, if needed. Don't worry about the little things as in time they will get the attention needed. Right now you are the number 1 priority. I will keep you in my prayers & hope you have as little discomfort as I did. Be well. ... View related article. |

| RE: Cleaning an Old Butcher Block Wood Table |
|
I just recently purchased a very old butcher block cart for $5. It was in very good condition structurally speaking but the top was in very poor condition loaded with stains & very soiled. I washed it with simple dish washing detergent & water & immediately dried it with a dry cloth. I then sanded it going with the grain until all of the stains were gone. I then took a new paint brush & painted olive oil on it. I let it dry & put a 2nd coat on & let it dry. I then buffed it with a cotton dry cloth. It came out beautiful & looks brand new. I sold it for $100. Good luck with yours. ... View related article. |

| RE: Jobs With Better Income |

I would suggest that anything in the medical field would allow you to receive a decent paycheck, if not generous. I am a retired nurse but some of my friends still work in that profession making 6 figures a year. X-ray technician, learning to run a cat scan, etc. would also be a good consideration. Even though so many people are losing their jobs you never hear of medical people losing theirs. I wish you well. ... View related article. |

| RE: Home Remedy for Cellulite |

Do you ever watch the tv program called THE DOCTORS? Well there is a Dr. on the panel who is a plastic surgeon & one day he talked about cellulite. He said that there is nothing you can do about cellulite as far as taking pills, creams, exercises, etc. He said the only thing to help cellulite is to have surgery. They literally remove the excess fat. Hope this helps. ... View related article. |

| RE: Deodorant Stains on Undershirts |
Hi Susan,
When doing a white wash use hot water, add your regular detergent & 1 cup of bleach & 1/4 cup of BOROX. I have been using this method for years & always have the whitest laundry you can imagine. Prior to that my husbands white t-shirts used to have yellow areas under the arms. Oh, & weather permitting I also hang my clothes outdoors. I'm sure the sun helps bleach them a tad more & oh my, the laundry smells so good. Best of luck. ... View related article. |

| RE: Frugal Tips For Cruise Vacations |
Hi Sandy,
My hubby & I have been on 27 cruises.
We do not partake of the offshore excursions through the cruise line as they are too expensive. Are you going with another couple & if not you will meet others on the cruise. Here's what we do. We hook up with 1 or 2 other couples & either hire a van or a taxi & you will find that it is not as expensive. It helps if you have decided ahead of time where you want to go & then tell the driver & do not be afraid to haggle over the price. If this is your 1st cruise you may be intimated to do so but it is perfectly acceptable. Good luck & have a greaat time. ... View related article. |
