| RE: Advice For Hard Dry Cuticles |
|
The best thing I've found for cuticles and extremely dry hands is just before bed to put vicks or mentholatum on my hands and rub it in well, put on a pair of gloves, nylon holds the body heat in better. The next morning wash hands well with warm water and a MILD soap then use a good lotion. Works wonders! ... View related article. |

| RE: Do Horse Shampoos Make Your Hair Look Thicker? |
Hi Joan from another Joan in the desert of southern California. I fully sympathize your mother as I'm just now getting my hair back. By Mar 15 I resembled a cue ball, fight as I would, chemo takes all your hair away. There was no eyebrows, nothing! The first month I was able to stand wigs as it was relatively cool here but by mid-May our temp was around 110 everyday and I have a terrible problem with my head perspiring. I did wear wigs to go out of the house to the Dr, radiation etc. but mostly I wore turbans. If your mom sews go to http://www.headhuggers.org/misc/links.htm for many links to sew, crochet or knit. I went here: http://www.sewing.org/enthusiast/html/ec_turban.html and found a very simple pattern, went to WalMart and bought 5/8th yard of different fabrics and voila, turbans. Much cooler than wigs, and at the 99 cent store you can get hair thingys for pony tails etc. put under the front of the turban and there's your bangs, Wish her the best of luck from me. You'd know me anywhere, I'm the one with about an inch of hair all over my head and skinny eyebrows!! ... View related article. |

| RE: Lime Deposits on a Stainless Steel Sink |

If all else fails, go to the auto parts store and get a small can of Maquires chrome polish. rub in and keep rubbing. We have rotten water and big lime and calcium problems, vinegar works if I catch it at once but not if it gets ahead of me. this stuff really shines your sink! Good luck!! ... View related article. |

| RE: Chester (Mixed Breed) |
When our Shadow was at the chewing age we gave her ice cubes from the ice maker to chew on. I say the ice maker because they are not as large as ice cube tray cubes. She would chew the cubes and left everything else alone except 1 leather shoe string from DHs boot. Now at 75 lbs she still enjoys a cube now and then & has her other toys from 11 years ago. Please don't give rawhide sticks or chews unless you can stay with him and watch him. At that age they tend to swallow too big a piece at a time and pups very easily choke on them. Above all enjoy him, take him to obedience classes so others can enjoy him & so he'll do the things needed to keep himself safe... like come when called or stop when told and walk like a gentleman down the street not dislocating your shoulder. Our PetsMart had great classes very reasonable that we started at about 4 months old. ... View related article. |

| RE: Sew Two Twin Blankets To Make A Big King Sized One |
What a great idea. We have the California king and I keep ending up with sheets, etc. that are too wide and not long enough. Maybe with a bit of thinking I can figure a way to make the fitted bottom fit! But this will sure take care of the blankets that do not seem to be wide enough for us even when they say they are "king size" Thanks for sharing! ... View related article. |

| RE: Is It OK To Use Moldy Cheese? |
|
After you trim the mold off of hard cheese, (Cheddar, Jack, etc.,) wipe all the surfaces of the cheese with a paper towel or cheese cloth saturated with vinegar. Use what you need & then wrap your left over cheese in the vinegar saturated towel or cloth, place in a FRESH plastic bag and squeeze out as much air as you can before sealing. Your cheese will keep for a considerable time afterward and the vinegar doesn't make the cheese taste any different. ... View related article. |

| RE: No Bake Treats for a Bake Sale |
You might try talking the ladies of your church into having a "bakeless" Bake sale. Living in the southern Calif desert where our temperatures hit triple digits from May to October we take the amount of money it would cost us to prepare an item plus what we would spend to buy goodies ourselves and donate that instead of baking items for a bake sale. No melting icing, refrigeration worries or melting people in their kitchens. Just a thought. ... View related article. |

| RE: Finding Clothing That Fits |
Blair sells "Petites" in the W sizes and they fit pretty well. also try the 2 piece "tankini" type swimsuits, they cover a multitude of sins (as it were) and are quite stylish. I'm no help with the shoes as that part of me chose not to expand with the rest! Good Luck! ... View related article. |
