Dear Beckie! Please give Scrooge another chance! Do you remember how he was converted by three Ghosts into being one of the nicest people around and how he saved Tiny Tim from dying! All the converted Scrooges in this world need love at Christmas time in order to continue their struggle for human rights and social change. We Scrooges have to save the dying children of Darfur Sudan, and in places like the Central African Republic, where children are routinely kidnapped and held for ransom. Some are even killed when the ransom is not paid! We have to save the desperately poor and hungry and we do not have enough money to spend at Walmart! Please forgive Scrooge if he decides not to buy cheap or expensive gifts this Christmas, but tries to save $500. dollars for a tent to send to Darfur next summer, in order to protect a hungry and desperate child from the heat and the cold and the sand.
