| RE: Do You Really Need "New" Clothes? |
Great tips! One thing I am a big fan of is layering. I keep clothes for a very long time and I find that I use almost everything I own at least once a year! If something doesn't fit me but has a cool pattern I will wear it under a sweater or a cardigan and give it new life. If you go through your closet, with a little creativity you can put things together in a new way. I also like to browse through new clothing magazines to get new ideas for things I already own. ... | RE: My Frugal Life: Simple Stuff |
Nice tips but please don't re-use your water bottles! Water bottles are unfortunately made with toxins and reusing them once can cause the toxins to leach into your drinking water. Instead use a stainless steel or ceramic cup :) ... View related article. |

| RE: Sticking to a Weight Loss Program |

Something that really helped me eat better is when I starting learning about what bad food does to your body. It never really "clicked" until I saw it in writing. I also subscribe to a fitness magazine from a discount magazine website. didn't want to pay full price! Because it arrives in the mail with new recipes and a fresh take on dieting. That's probably my number 1 tip for you: keep it new and exciting. Mix up your recipes and find healthy food you like. Good luck. (also, the "1 cheat day" is a really good idea!) ... | RE: Craft Project: Retro Starburst Mirror |

Love the mirror! I was looking at other "craft" projects on here and they are nice...but not exactly modern. I think that this is something a lot of people can use and it looks like something that was bought in the store. Nice job! ... View related article. |

| RE: My Frugal Life - Tips from a Save-o-holic |
Nice tips! I would also suggest shopping Craigslist for anything you need. We buy and sell from there all the time. It's free and you can negotiate everything. I'm not very handy but my boyfriend is so if something breaks he can usually fix it.
Also- check all your bills to make sure you are paying for things you use. I drive an older car and decided to cancel a couple options and I got my bill down to $53/month! I also signed up for a discounted gym membership (bought off Craigslist) and scrutinized my cell phone bill and brought it down from $100 to 63 a month. Now that I'm exercising I can fit into more of the old clothes in my closet. Trust me, it feels WAY better to fit into your old "small" clothes rather than buying something new. ... | RE: Defaulting on Student Loans |
Hey there, sorry to hear about your problems :( Foolishly I used student loan money to pay off credit cards.. I am in a MUCH better place now but still in school and waiting for that bill to come due next year!
I currently work in education and what I can tell you is that the lender likes to see ANY amount of money paid. Even if you can afford $5/month it will show that you are making payments. Call the lender and explain your situation, MAYBE they can work something out for you but again I think it's wise to pay them SOMETHING.
Good luck. ... View related article. |
