OMD it works! I tried my steam carpet cleaner and Resolve immediately, and then later Oxy clean and even peroxide (all along afraid I'd accidentally bleach the carpet). Nothing worked. The stain was only diluted and more spred out. We are leasing until we save up to buy, and I was sure we'd have to pay to replace the carpet! I used dish soap (generic red type) and water with a white towel. You can see the stain lift on the white towel and you don't have to worry about the die of a color towel bleeding into carpet if you use a white one.
My carpet is a light beige and my girl spilled cherry koolaid and hot pink lipstick on the carpet. I used a wet towel (lightly wringed out) and a iron on medium temp. I put the iron on 1 spot for 20-30 seconds and moved the towel to a clean section and repeated. I noticed if the temp is too high the towel burns, but on a lower temp the towel was pink with the lifted stains. It took patience and time, but it worked 100% percent!
