Profile For Crystal Ball - A Little About Me. . . .
As you can see by the picture I chose, I'm not a morning person. Hello to you all! I discovered My Frugal Life sometime last year and love it! Thanks to you my finger nails are stronger and my whites whiter. I have visited and/or joined a couple of other frugal type sites, but found this one to be my favorite. All of you are so nice and helpful. I have put many of your comments and suggestions to heart and have made a concerted effort in revamping many of my home making practices. Thanks to you all!
Nah, oily skin is not heredity nor hormone induced. Yes, you'll break out more when the menstral cycle stops by to make our life miserable for five days, but this happens to everyone regardless of their skin type. I have extremely oily skin and my Mom has extremely dry. My oldest daughter has oily skin and my two other children have dry skin. You just get what you get as far as that goes. I can help you with your oily skin woes, though. (Be grateful you have oily skin as we "oilies" age much nicer than dry skinned people). After you wash and astringent your face, put on a VERY LIGHT face cream that states for oily skin on the bottle. A preconceived notion oily skinned people seem to have is to not put cream on their face. However if you don't replenish your face with moisturizer after cleansing, you will actually produce MORE oil. And if you wear base make-up, wear an extremely light textured cream specifically formulated for oily skin. Good luck! ... View related article.
Putting water IN mascara is not what you do if you want to get the last tid-bit out of the bottle. What I do is put the tightly, closed tube of mascara in a small glass of hot, tap water. Make sure the water does not go above the lid line, you only need to get the bottom 1/3 of the tube in the hot water. What this does is get that last little bit of mascara warm enough to collect on the brush inside the bottle. After a few minutes, take out the tube of mascara and use as usual. I found this a great way to completely use up a tube of favorite mascara. To reclarify, you're not putting water IN the mascara, you're putting the CLOSED TUBE of mascara in hot water. Hope this helps you some! ... View related article.
The key to no scarring with acne is not to pick at them. However, preventing acne break-outs is more tricky. The number one cause of acne is dirty/oily skin; the second cause for break-outs is hormonal. I have tried many products on the market for acne prevention and have found that simply keeping my skin clean is the trick. However, when certain times of the month and/or stressful events come into play, all the clean skin in the world won't prevent break-outs. I have tried Proactive (like Diane suggests) and personally found it to be very expensive with little results. I'm not trying to say it hasn't worked for other people, just didn't for me. (I was on it for three years, too). I just came across a little gadget in Walgreens the other day that seems to do the trick on acne. It's expensive, but if you have the hormonal break-outs that I have the priviledge of enduring, then it's worth every penny. Here is a website you can go check it out at: http://myzeno.com/. Good luck, Jamie! ... View related article.
Do you have a collection of pills? If you have prescription or vitamin supplement pills around, that would be a good area to store them. Since vitamin supplements come in a variety of bottle sizes, you might take the spice bottles you still have, dump out the spices you no longer use and put your vitamin supplements in them. Label them so you know which bottle is holding what vitamin and alphabetize them in your new VITAMIN rack! ... View related article.
