RE: Agency Recommendations for Adopting Overseas
It is an overwhelming thing to contemplate, especially overseas. At the time that I considered it, I lived in a fairly big city and found lots of support groups in my area online. Through them I met a woman who gave seminars on the entire process, including domestic, foreign, inter-racial, etc. The seminar was fantastic. Erupting family problems interrupted my process at the time so I never followed through.

Anyway, I'm thinking that your best bet is to look for adoption support groups online in your state/area. If you live in too small of an area, try looking online for the nearest large city with support groups. There will usually be "specialty" support groups, like families of asian adoptees, etc. Even if the city is too far to attend a support group on a regular basis, you could call and network around to see if anything exists like that seminar I went to. I think your best bet is going to be meeting with support groups in person and learning from the people in those groups. Anyway, best of luck to you. ... View related article.

RE: Repairing a Keystone 16 mm Projector
Not sure how much expense you're willing to go to, but this guy might be able to help:

http://www.paulivester.com/films/projector/contact_ken.htm">http://www.paulivester.com/films/projector/contact_ken.htm

(I don't know why that's printing twice, I've only typed it once. Anyway just paste the address up to, but not including the second "http" in your address bar)

RE: Replacement Parts for Gott Stainless Steel Thermos Bottle
I noticed this old thriftyfun thread.

http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf726341.tip.html

It looks like it's been running for a couple of years but it's about GOTT bottles. Apparently they're no longer made but one of the threads claims that this company:

http://www.zojirushi.com/

used to make them before rubbermaid bought the brand and discontinued it. One comment claimed they were able to get an adequate replacement part for their bottle even though the company didn't actually make it for that thermos. Anyway, hope that helps. ... View related article.

RE: Finding the Current Value of Porcelain Dolls
This site is based out of austrailia but it seems to cover doll collecting of all kinds quite thoroughly and there is a "contact us" feature. Perhaps they could point you in the direction of a pricing guide. My grandmother seems to like it. She collects dolls too.

RE: Refill for Sudsing Shower Head
http://www.tools4growth.com/ShakSwap.htm

This site is for hard-to-find/discontinued items. I've seen some 'wanted' ads there for BasicH. Also check out eBay from time to time. I've seen some BasicH auctioned there. you might also contact shaklee directly on their shaklee.com site. I may be wrong but, I think your friend may be remembering wrong. I'm pretty sure that whole shower/head basic H thing was Shaklee. Anyway, either 'contact us' or 'find a dealer' at shaklee.com could answer your question more thoroughly about whether or not they still market the basicH soap. ... View related article.

RE: Waverly "Garden Room" Salad Plates
Target/Waverly "Garden Room" actually had four different patterns: Sweet Violets, Garden lane, Vintage Rose and Roseberry. If you can figure out which one you have I might can help you find it. Look here for a description of each:

http://interiordec.about.com/cs/accessoriesart/a/waverlytarget.htm

There are links with pictures there. I looked at replacements.com and they didn't have any of the Waverly Garden Room there but it's good to keep in mind for the future if you keep it for a really long time. ... View related article.

RE: Cleaning a Leather Tiganello Purse
Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol will remove ink from just about anything, including leather. But, it is drying to leather so, it may be a good idea to mink oil or otherwise treat the leather when you're done. ... View related article.
