| RE: Dog Peeing Inside House |
|
Your dog could have Cushings disease. You can google it to find out more details. It usually affects older dogs, but any dog can get it. I have a shepherd/chow spayed female, who never had any accidents. She started drinking and peeing a lot, sometimes in her bed, unknowingly. They can't control it. The vet can run tests to diagnose, and can treat it. You really need to see a vet, as it sounds medical, not behavioral. ... View related article. |

| RE: Tony (Tabby) |

ADORABLE cat! Sounds like he has a great personality! My cat loves to chase after the red light dot from a laser pointer...and she is older, around 7 years old. Try it out with Tony, maybe it will give him a reason to leave his lazy ways behind. Some cats don't like it all, but I swear my cat is addicted to the "red ball" game and whines and bugs me to play it with her! ... View related article. |

| RE: Is Dog's Shedding Caused By Lack Of Vitamins? |
|
My Lab also sheds very badly and I have tried everything and read everything...it really is just a "Lab" thing. Short-haired dogs shed worse than most long-haired dogs. The best thing is brush them as often as possible, every day if you can. There is a shedding brush called the "furminator" that is really good for Labs. About $60 in pet stores, but cheaper on e-bay. I also have done some of the food additive oil supplements, and they help with the luster of the coat (and dogs love the flavor of it) but I haven't found it to help the shedding much. Other advice: buy a Dyson...well worth the money if you have dogs (I have three). Good luck! ... View related article. |

| RE: Suggestions For Good British Authors |
|
You definitely have to read Ruth Rendell, if you haven't already. She has written tons of books....she also writes under an alias, Barbara Vine. I like her earlier novels better than her more recently published ones. What fun, if you haven't read her yet! You have years worth of reading ahead! Another writer I like is Val McDermid....similar to the authors you have mentioned. ... View related article. |

| RE: Getting Nails To Grow |
Being in the sun always promotes growth of nails and hair, but not the safest technique. I have tried lots of things, but found best success with a product called Nailtiques Formula #1. About $17 a bottle (size of nail polish) but sometimes cheaper is avail. on e-bay. It is clear and use as base coat, or use alone. Works well for me. ... View related article. |

| RE: What breed is my dog? |
|
Gorgeous dog! Seizures can be controlled with phenobarbitol, which is inexpensive. It does have some unpleasant side effects (my dog peed a lot, so she had to be kept in kitchen when I was away during the day, also my dog became more "food aggressive" from the phenobarb) You may want a second veterinary opinion......it doesn't sound like your vet is giving you many answers. I am lucky to live in a city with one of the top vet schools in the country and we have excellent vets and specialists in the area. If you can get a referral, I would do so. See a vet who specializes or at least works with many dogs with neurological problems, even better: if you have a vet school near Statesboro, that would be the place to take him for a consultation. I agree with the other feedback, he is too big for a shepherd/husky.....probably does have Malamute. Another good resource would be to find a Malamute website or chat room and see if anyone can give you specific answers about the breed and seizures. All seizures are not caused by epilepsy. Can also be related to tumors on the brain, which was what my dog developed at age 11. She lived another 3 years, on meds, but the meds took a toll on her. Good luck and do try to find a more specialized vet. ... View related article. |

Darling dog and congrats for adopting from a shelter! He definitely looks like he has lots of Golden Retriever. If he has any dark spots on his tongue (dark blue/purple color) then that is a feature of a Chow. He looks like a great mix of whatever! ... View related article. |
