RE: Freeze Excess Cranberries
If you spread them out on a sheet pan and put it in the freezer, it will freeze them individually. Then scoop them into freezer bags and you can grab as much as you want at any time without having to thaw a whole bag of them. ... View related article.

RE: Estimating Food Quantities for a Party
My husband the Chef says 5 oz of starch (potatoes, rice, etc), 5 oz protein (meat, fish, etc), 3 oz vegetables, 3 oz fruit, 3 oz salad, and 1 piece of dessert per person. Hope this helps. You didn't mention if this was a buffet or a plated event. ... View related article.

RE: Dryer Lint for Bird Nests
You can avoid using artificial fabric softener by using vinegar instead and putting dryer balls in your dryer. I picked mine up at the dollar store. I get a little static after drying fleece blankets but a little shake gets it out. Then it is safe to put your dryer lint out for the birds, and they love it. ... View related article.

RE: Reusing Old Pasta Sauce Jars
The lids can be covered with a salt-dough creation (there are many free recipes online) and used for gift or candy jars. I have also started to use mine instead of plastic food storage in the fridge as much as possible because of the possible health concerns with plastics. They can go in the microwave, too. ...
