RE: Disposing of a Lava Lamp Safely
All a lava lamp is, is veggie oil and wax. Both can be recycled. just pop the cap. Pour the oil on you compost if you have one. Let the wax sit out in the sun for a couple of days. It will dry out the oil will degenerate and evaporate. Either throw the wax out or use it to make candles. My daughter had one that we neede to get rid of and this is what I did. I made tea light candles out of the wax and that was about 3 years ago. I made almost 50 tea lights out of it. ... View related article.

Lighter fluid will remove markers. I have used it on leather shoes and cloths. Keep FLAMES AWAY TILL DRY. Put some on a paper towel and blot the marker off. ... View related article.

RE: Removing Burned on Food from Pans
If the Scotch green scrubby does not work. Put a packet or two of Kool aid powder the little packets not presweetened in the pan and add a little water (just enough to cover the burnt on area. Let it sit for about 15 minutes or 1/2 Hour. This forms a low grade acid that works on removing the burnt food. This is used in the military and restaurants to clean the griddles they use.
