I just ordered an photo album from LTD the first of January an did not receive it till the last of February. Kept checking on my order and it never did say they were out of it . . just had not been sent yet. I have ordered from them before an did not have a problem . . but this time they wanted a check before sending the album and then when I recieved the album I had to send another check for the shipping. This I had never done before.
ABC I do order from and with no problems. At least they will tell you when they are out of something and also I do not have to write 2 separate checks either. One I do order from a lot is Terry's Village http://www.terrysvillage.com out of Omaha, Nebraska. They are great and have very nice items too. I ordered a small floral vase one week an recieved it the very next week. Their prices are great just like all their items. dampness... I would like to share something that happen to us with our cars through the storm Allison that hit Houston. I got DampRid and put it into the car which had gotten water in it after taking a wet vac to the inside of each car.
I left them in the car for a couple of days an could not believe all the water that DampRid had collected. There are different types of DampRid but I have found if I get the type that you can refill (comes like a cottage cheese container) it is much cheaper. We now keep one in each closet an each room. Just refill when the beads are gone.

First of all I wanted to thank everyone that answered my question about the kitten in the planter boxes. To KIMDEDO..mama kitty took that upon herself to give little one a friend ..8 more little ones. I have called Animal Control which will pick them up and hopefully give them a good home, mama and the babies. Living in an apartment we just cant keep all of them. At least mama kitty knew that they would be safe from any harm which she was right. We had no idea that cats would multipuly so fast..one batch in Jan. and now another in April. Its so funny now the one from the first litter in Jan. watches over the new little ones..big sister I guess..haha Thanks for all your answers ! an yes I will know what to do in the future as you all were so helpful..thanks again all

I just think this is great for people to start thinking of what they need to do ahead of time.
We have a special place in a closet just for hurricanes, etc. I grew up, up north and learned to have extras in the pantry for blizzards. Even if you don't have room cases of extra food, how about under the beds. I really think there have been some great ideas in this site. Yes, we have been through some storms where the heat was gone. You learn to put on more clothes and don't forget little sweaters/coats for your little animals too.
Make sure that if you take any medicine daily have your medicine refilled to get you by, don't wait till you are almost out. You could be in trouble.
One thing to keep on hand is rice. This is very filling and I always keep extra in my freezer, jars of cheese to make mac & cheese and cans of fruit juice. I go to the dollar stores for stocking up on batteries, paper plates, plastic silverware and powdered cream. I've found they are a lot cheaper.
If you drink coffee you might want to stock up. It may go up in price as it is not grown in this country and it may be hard to get. How about a coffee pot that is not electric, one like we use to use on top of the stoves.
I want to thank all who have listed different things. I have been doing this for years but have now listed new things on my stock up list.
