| RE: Easter Ideas for Baby Food Jars |
I just saw a cute chick made from a babyfood jar. The jar was painted yellow. Yellow and orange felt were used to make the feet, wings, face and beak. The jar was filled with fake grass and jellybeans. I think the grade-school children made them, for the elderly who live in the housing complex near their school. I would think that this idea would work equally well to make bunnies.

| RE: Halloween Help |
You could have the man dress as a sultan and the women dress as his harem. You could have all six poeple dress as figures from the harlequin tea set, you can find out the dress of each caracter by reading the Agatha Christy Novel "The Harlequin Tea Set[or party]". You could all dress as cards from Alice In Wonderland, or any other assortment of caraters from that book. You could dress as six of the seven dwarves and dress up a store dummy or set of clothes to be sleepy or one of the other dwarves. You could all dress in blue tights and leotards with blue make-up and be the very first Pentium 6 ad. You could dress up as the different children of the week, Monday's child is fair of face [dressed all up in lots of make-up and a tiara], Tuesday's child is full of grace [dressed like a ballrina] Each outfit would have the day's child written on the front with the text for that day. I think my brain has dried up after those suggestions. Good luck and if you win with one of my ideas send me a picture.

| RE: Packaging Odds and Ends |
Berry Baskets are great to use for bulb planting. Dig the hole, place the berry basket in the hole and then put the bulbs in the basket and fill the hole. This makes it easy to lift bulbs, for storing or dividing. This also helps protect bulbs from burrowing animals. To protect bulbs from digging animals, like squirrels, place a second berry basket over the bulbs. The bulbs grow right thru the mesh, you may need to enlarge the holes, if a tight weave, for some thick stemmed flowers.

We had hanging lamps made out of egg-cartons. It consisted of the bubble-formed portions of egg-cartons. The egg-cartons were spray-painted gold. Marbles were pushed through holes in the bottoms of the cups and glued in place. They made great hanging lamps for the bedrooms of our shore house. They were six-sided, glued together, with an old clothes hanger bend to hold the shape. That also held the lamp portion in place, for hanging.

| RE: School Shopping Advice |
Hi Jennifer, I use to work for JCPenney's and can help a little with this question. The best sales for back-to-school clothes do occur prior to school starting, August. You can however get the clothing cheaper by waiting until the middle of September to purchase fall clothes. This is because clothing stores get their winter clothes in the store around August/September. The store needs to make room for the new line of clothing and hence must discount the remaining fall line. The clothes then go onto the Clearance racks. Prices on the clearance racks can be anywhere from 10% to 90% off the regular price. The disadvantage of waiting is that the remaining stock is depleted of many styles and sizes, thus making it more difficult to find clothes that fit and match. The last big sale for Back-to-school clothing is normally the Labor Day sale. I would advise that you never pay the retail tag price for anything. If you see something that you want and it is not on sale ask when it will be on sale. A decent discount/sale price is 25% less than retail, don't waste your money on sales of less than 25%. I hope this is of help to you. Mrs Kathy Cohen Northfield, VT ... View related article. |

Don't use a dishwasher. What a waste of water! Fill a dishpan with hot soapy water. Wash all the dishes. Then use a pan or sink of fresh water to rinse. Only a few gallons of water are used this way. You save water and the cost of running a dishwasher. Mrs Kathy Cohen Northfield,VT ... View related article. |

Drinking bottled water saves no water and cost too much! Fill a pitcher with water and keep full in the fridge. I do place my water can under the faucet in the morning and let it fill while running the water for my coffee. This is a good idea if you have metal pipes or your municpality has old pipes. It flushes any lead that has settled in the pipes overnight. Mrs Kathy Cohen Northfield,VT ... View related article. |

Do not use a brick in the toilet tank. The brick can disolve over time and ruin your toilet. If you want to take up space in the tank use a plastic bottle filled with water. Even if the bottle cracks over time it won't ruin the tank.
