I live in the North East of England with my DH of almost 40 years. We have three grown up children, two sons 38 and 34 and daughter 31, as well as 6 grandchildren, 3 boys and 3 girls. I love to read and am getting quite adept at container gardening. My main hobbies are, embroidery, knitting and I am learning how to quilt.
Regarding the 'bites' out of your leaves in your containers. We garden totally in pots and it sounds like you have a problem with vine weevils. You dont often actually see them, but they look like a very hard shelled beetle. You also have to watch out for the eggs which look like a large larvae as they eat the roots of your plants from the bottom up. Nasty little things. Im in the UK and I doubt if we have the same products to use on them. Go to a garden centre and ask and im sure they will give you the right stuff.
My hubby was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2001, thankfully caught in the early stages. He had no surgery and a month of radiotherapy which he held up to pretty well. He was tired a lot and itchy which took about 3 months after the treatment to get back to normal. After that he was treated for 3 years with hormone injections and got the thumbs up more than a year ago. Unfortunately these piled on the weight and killed his libido we we are assured that it will come back. Wishing you the best. Anne in the United Kingdom ... View related article.
