I am the proud mother of 6 children whose extended brood has grown to include all of the spouses, 12 grand children and 12 great grandchildren (at last count).
My husband and I live in a very small village in central Illinois. In the spring and summer, I work in my vegetable garden and small herb garden.

I have an extensive cookbook collection and love to try new recipes, especially those in the Thrifty Newsletter. Now that my children are grown, I have had to scale my recipes down and learn to cook for two.
The holidays are a wonderful extravaganza with our family. They number 42 now, with their families. We have many wonderful cooks among us.
