There is a wonderful place on the internet at www.thebookcart.com where you can get books almost for free. It is really a sort of book exchange. I will try to explain or you can go to the site and they will explain it.
This is strictly paperbacks. If you have any that you no longer want, you can list them with the bookcart. If someone requests your book, you will be notified where to mail it. The bookcart gives you $1.38 credit to pay for the postage. You receive nothing for the book, most books will cost you $1.13 to mail bookrate. If you find a book that you want and order it, you are charged $1.98. This includes $1.38 for the person shipping the book to you, and the bookcart keeps the rest for expenses of maintaining the site. If you deposit $10.00 in advance, you are only charged $1.78 per book.
There are other rules, etc. Just go to the link and check it out. I am a member, and have sent books and received books. I recently found an older copy of a book that was part of a trilogy. I am very pleased with this site. And they are friendly, too.

Good source of books onlines is .the bookcart.com readers can buy books and sell there own for a very small fee. You list the books and get a e-mail when you have a request you then ship the book and are credit for the mailing. The books are FREE you pay only $1.60 for the postage.
I have used them for a year and the service is great and you can't better the condition of the books or the price. Well worth checking out. - Sharon
If you are in to Ebooks, Amazon's kindle for the PC is free and you can down load quite a few titles for free.
I like to buy used books through www.alibris.com. They have many for $0.99 and $3.99 shipping.
My husband has found lots of good hardback books at the Dollar Store for you guessed it... a dollar.
