Does anyone have a good spray starch recipe?

# 1 tablespoon cornstarch
# 1/2 cup water
Directions
1 Mix the cornstarch and the water in a saucepan over medium heat (not boiling) until mixture is smooth and transparent.
2.Let it cool enough so you can safely pour it into a spray bottle.
3.Voila!
4.You're ready to go!
So I tried something new this morning in absence of corn starch.
* 2 cups of hot water
* 1.5 teaspoons of fine grade Tapioca starch
* 0.5 teaspoons of powdered Arrowroot
Whacked in a mason jar and shook well. Transferred into spray bottle.
I think the quantities can be increased to get a stiffer result on the fabric, but I was being cautious in case the starches used left a white residue on my work shirt.

* Around ~60mL (~2 oz) of Methylated Spirits (or pure 96% ethanol)
