Instructions

  • 1 cup soft shortening (part butter)
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Mix shortening, sugar, and eggs thoroughly. Blend all dry ingredients and stir in. Roll in balls the size of small walnuts and roll in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Makes about 5 dozen 2 inch cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup margarine, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar

Directions

Cream 1 1/2 cups sugar, shortening and margarine together in bowl. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well. Combine next 4 ingredients in bowl. Stir into creamed mixture. Chill overnight. Shape into walnut-sized balls. Mix cinnamon and 2 tablespoons sugar in small bowl. Roll cookies in sugar mixture. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees F for 8-10 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar and
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

Cream butter. Add sugar gradually. Add eggs, beat until mixture is light and fluffy.

Add soda, vanilla, and nutmeg to milk.

Add milk mixture to creamed mixture.

Gradually add flour (depending on humidity, you may not need all 4 cups).

Batter should be firm and rather dry.

Refrigerate 15 minutes. Form dough into 1 inch balls and roll in cinnamon and sugar.

Place 1 1/2 inches apart on baking sheet and bake at 375 degrees farenheit for 5-7 minutes. They burn easily so watch them closely.

  • 1-1/2 cups white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. white sugar
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Cream together butter, shortening, 1-1/2 cups sugar, eggs and vanilla. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls.

Mix together 2 Tablespoons sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls of dough in mixture. Place 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until set but not too hard. Remove immediately from baking sheets. Makes about 4-dozen.

Ingredients

Cookie Dough

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Directions

Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Combine all cookie ingredients in large mixer bowl. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed (2 to 4 minutes).

Stir together 3 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon in small bowl. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar mixture.

Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
