Chicopee Memorial State Park(413-594-9416). 25 acres of hiking trails and a beautiful spot for picnics and swimming.

The Norman Rockwell Museum is in Stockbridge, about an hour west of Springfield.

Mass Audubon At Laughing Brook Wildlife Sanctuary (413-710-4550) Enjoy trails and meadows filled with wildlife and quiet beauty.

Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame (413-781-6500)

Springfield Symphony Hall hosts many different shows during the year in addition to remarkable symphonic presentations. (413-733-2291)

City Stage (413) 283-5980 is home to several theatrical productions.

Nightlife:

Springfield plays host to several clubs and enjoys a vibrant night life. It's also about 30 minutes from Northampton and its famous Iron Horse club which is ALL Ages All The Time for live music and entertainment!

Just for Kids:

Children's Museum at Holyoke (413-536-KIDS). One of the best museums of its kind in New England only minutes north of Springfield.

For kids and for those young at heart, don't miss the Dr. Suess sculpture! The sculpture is located at the Quadrangle-Springfield's Museums and Library complex.

For the cost of parking, (under $5.00) you can spend a lovely day at Forest Park to picnic or to visit the petting zoo.

Seasonal Information:

The Eastern States Exposition isn't called THE BIG E for nothing!( 413-737-2443) It's the largest exposition in New England which starts in the fall and supplies about two weeks of FUN for all ages. Agricultural Exhibits, horse shows, amusement rides and top line entertainment all for the cost of admission.

"Bright Nights" at Forest Park is the nationally known light display commencing during the holiday season.

Easy drive to several New England ski areas.

Minutes from the Annual Brimfield Flea Market,, literally miles of all kinds of interesting finds for everyone!

Most national chains are available or close to Springfield. Because rates change periodically best for travelers to check on an individual basis.

Interesting Facts or History:

Ted Geisel (Dr. Suess) was born and raised here and Mulberry Street is still here !

Home of the Basketball Hall of Fame!

Springfield is home to four colleges including Springfield College and only minutes from UMass, Amherst College, Smith College and others.

Springfield is centrally located at about 30 minutes north of Hartford, CT, two hours west of Boston and about three hours from NYC.
