Use a Dryer Sheet for Stuck-on Food

If you have a pan or casserole bowl that is really dirty, fill with water and add a dryer sheet. Let it soak for 10 minutes, and it will come clean in a second!

To get burned on food off of cookware; bring a pot of water to a boil. Drop in a used dryer softener sheet, and let soak overnight. Everything slides right off the next day!

A "greener" solution is to fill the pot with water, add 1/4 cup of baking soda and turn the burner on warm. The burnt on food will rinse right off. You need to watch out for the chemicals in dryer sheets. Make sure if you use this technique that you wash and rinse the pot really well. Baking Soda is much safer! (12/01/2009)

Everyone has baked a great casserole, then had to deal with the stuck on mess! It's easy to clean the dish by pouring hot water into it, then placing a dryer softener sheet in the water. Let soak for an hour or two, and voila! The crusted on mess is softened and easy to clean out!

Wow, have to try this. Can the drier sheet be used? or does it have to be new? (05/13/2008)

When food sticks in a pan or dish, just add warm water and a dryer sheet. Let it soak. It will wipe out like a breeze!
