Save Time With Complete Pancake Mix

When I buy pancake mix I make sure it's the complete mix. All you have to add is water. With the price of groceries going up, you will save money by not having to add eggs and milk. It also saves time.

You NEVER save money by buying convenience foods. You sacrifice good nutrition for chemicals and you pay handsomely to do it.

People need choline and lecithin for proper brain and neuro functioning. These 2 nutrients in particular are NOT found in many other foods besides eggs and if so, are only in very trace amounts.

Eggs are the #1 source of these nutrients (and many other essential nutrients) but you think it's a "smart" idea to pay more money to skip the 2 seconds it takes to crack open an egg??? It really does take all of 2 seconds or less to do.

Even worse would be to buy the pre-packaged plastic bottles of chemical pancake mix so you dump a bottle into the landfill with every over-priced breakfast of chemicals you serve.

I like your idea! I haven't made pancakes in months because of the time it already takes to cook the other (usually three) breakfast items, pour the beverages and setting the table all at the same time! And then there's the clean-up afterwards :-(

In this busy day and age (when many of us have to work two jobs and/or have a large family) 'one quick fix yummy' during a meal is not a sin. Sometimes 'time' is more valuable than paying a few more cents for convenience as long as done with common health and environment sense.

If the container the mix comes in is plastic, it can be cleaned and used for storing items such as buttons, laundry change, healthy snacks for lunches away from home or even used to sprout vegetable and flower seeds for years to come !!!

I also believe that we need to be careful about 'convenience' foods. Generally, they are not nutritious and have ingredients thay you would not suspect. I make my own pancake mix by grinding the various grains, then mixing them with all other dry ingredients. When I'm ready to make pancakes, I simply add a couple of tablespoons of organic applesauce, organic oil and organic soy or dairy milk or sometimes vegetable juice.

This mix makes sweet or savory pancakes and is quite nutritious. I realize sometimes we each need to save time. Not sure food is the best place to do it as we end up paying with our health.
