I have blotches in my carpet lighter than my beige carpet. What can I do to get it even colored?

When I used to be an installer's helper I heard him recommend more than once to use a permanent marker the same color as your carpet (or as close as you can get a bit on the light side if you can't match) and recolor the fabric.
Call your carpet manufacturer first, it may be warranted and when I sold carpet, some customers got free carpet put in for things like that. Good luck.
