Unusual Flower

This flower was so different from any other flower I've seen. It's on the small side, and I thought it was beautiful. No idea what it's called, though!

Lantana for sure and if you let it grow wild is gets huge, the overall plant, not the flower.

It's called lantana & comes in other colors. I have one in my front yard, was suppose to be a trailing kind & is quite large now. It is pretty. There is also a kind of moth & worm that likes to eat hole in the leaves.

I pick them off by hand, they hide in the dead stems of the flowers after that stem has bloomed.

They are very hardy and I've seen them in some beautiful colors. My husband dug up a grown plant at his mother's and planted it at our house in the heat of the summer and after being wilted a few days, it took off and grows very well. We have to trim it back every year. Also, beware, it is extremely poisonous to animals. My great-aunt's dog ate some and it caused the dogs kidneys to shut down and the vet couldn't help the dog and warned her about the plant being extremely poisonous.

We had Lantanas in our front yard. They're pretty, but I ended up pulling them all out, cause they attracted Wasps in droves.

This is the very Lantana I was wishing for and no one knew that. But wonder of wonders, someone planted one on the "Path Garden" a few years ago, right across from our gate. Last winter it toppled over and we had to cut it back, But it is doing really well again.

Lantana's are great for birds and butterfly's. This lavender one is in our front planter. GG Vi

In the UK, we know it as Verbena and that color mix has a name, but I can't remember it.
