We are building a home and went with all wood floors. They have been installed and stained but workers are still coming in and out. My problem is that it is showing dirt really bad, will this continue after the workers are done? What can I do to slow it down? I have an illness and can't clean it everyday. Please help I am desperate.

Immediately cover the floors with sheets of cardboard or canvas to reduce the dirt getting ground into the stain. Be sure the floors are sanded and clean before final polyurethane finishing. Once they are finished you will find them very easy to clean with a damp mop.
Ditto to Joan's post. You've got to clean them and then cover them. Ask the guys to try to walk on the covering and try to have as much of the floor covered as possible.
You need to buy a few good doormats - one to place just outside each door leading into the house. Even if people coming into your house don't actually stop and wipe their feet, just stepping on the mat will remove a lot of dust and trash. Once the workmen are done and gone, the mats should keep your floors a lot cleaner
And make sure those door mats you buy are big ones. A long mat will catch a lot of dirt. If you have sidewalks and mats outside, that helps tremendously as well.
