Keep Track Of Deductibles On Checks All Year Long

I put deductible on the memo line on checks and, when balancing my account, write the name, etc. of the amount and to who the deductible was written to on the statement page. At years end, you can quickly get this part on paper ready for your tax preparer.

When I make donations I use a highlighter to mark the entries for quick finding at tax time.

To keep track of charitable, I staple a portion of the mailer onto my check's carbon copy. It's always right there in my face. Easy for even me to put my hands on. Works, really.
