Here's a tip for stamp collectors: Place a few drops of water on the stamp to be removed from the envelope. Heat in the microwave for 20 seconds and the stamp will come right off.

Trim around the stamps. Freeze them. (No water needed.) Peel them off easily. Not as messy and much quicker.
Why bother trying to get a stamp off an envelope. If I want to use a stamp mistakenly put on the wrong envelope I just cut the paper around it then use whiteglue to stick paper and stamp on another envelope.
