Hi Ladies,
I have all brand new hardwood floors in my entire first floor. I have been told to use nothing, But, "HollowayHouse Quick Shine." It really does my hardwood floors beautifully. The shine is fantastic. I thought that the other ideas were just fascinating. Something I would have thought of! Thanks for sharing all those creative ideas.

Id be very careful if I were u! I used it several times and it looked beautiful! However, after awhile it turned a dark yellow color. It took me, my husband, my grown son 3 weekends of lots of hard work to get it off! We Evan used double the strength of their stripper, rejuvenate floor cleaner, and zep. Evan tried some auto type cleaners. Its a horrible sludge that comes up.
I love the cleaner and the shine on my vinyl floors. I only have to use one coat of the shine and it last for a long time. I really was impressed with these two products.

I love these products and tell everyone I know to use them. I use them on my hardwood floors and it makes them look brand new. It's my only splurge!
I LOVE the Glide Sweeper. It seems too good to be true that a product would be affordable and have outstanding performance! Thank you! I liked it so much I bought one for my mother. I have told several people what a great product this is. I am thinking about buying a second one for a back up in case these little beauties go out of production. This thing makes cleaning a ceramic tile floor so easy, I use it every day!

The Quick Shine is ok but after a while scratches show in the shined finish, and if you ever want to remove the finish is the biggest pain ever. Not to mention if you use a swiffer wet jet or any other floor cleaner like pinesol it will eat some of the quick shine finish off and leave it terrible spotty
Hi! It what exactly happened to me! No the part I used in my house looks weird ! I tried to remove it with water and it doesn't come off... How can I clean it completely?? please help
The same company that makes the quick shine also makes a deep cleaner which is what removes it all down to the original floor and then you can use the quick shine floor finish again. There's a 1-800 number on the back of the quick shine bottle I called them and they sent me the information and video
I tried it in my dinning room after a friend recommended. I blocked off the room, cleaned my floor really good and then applied. It was beautiful at first.

I used Quick Shine floor finish and they were shiny for a while but then it became harder and harder to keep them clean. I have two toddlers and hardwood in my kitchen-dining-living area. It is a pain to keep the floors clean. Anyway, I have to say I wouldn't recommend it. I am now trying to find something to strip it off. It is a wax. If you don't walk on your floors often then it may be the answer for you. I have wood floors in high traffic areas and this stuff just doesn't work well.

To answer your question. YES QUICK SHINE can be of somewhat of a pain, and NO it doesn't not work. See if you apply too much when it says apply evenly a real gloomy like hazey gloss comes up. NOW, if you're looking to have it shine like it does in the basketball courts, yes a buffer is needed for best results. You can either rent and do it yourself, or you can hire a professional (which is highly recommended). That'll keep it to the best of shine as long as it can stay. Honestly you will need to reapply after 3-4 weeks.
Now to remove it, most of the comments says there is not way. But there is a solution to remove it and I've done it many times as is.
You can either throw some elbow-grease into the floor and mop with really hot water at least 4 times over the area you want to come up, OR you can dry buffer the floor. Either one of those work (dry-buffering will work faster).
So there you have it. I've helped.

I have been using Quick Shine for a while now on my hardwoord floors and I love it! I haven't experienced any of the problems that other users have had about the product being hard to remove and creating a haze. I mop my floors about twice a week and apply quick shine about once a week. After about two moppings the product does come off my floor and they require a new coat. For me all it takes is one coat and my floors shine as if they had been professionally cleaned.
I love it too I have had no problems at all and have been using it for years. Maybe these other people haven't applied it right to begin with.
My husband put it on the ceramic tile in the kitchen and small outside porch EEEK!! At first it looked great, so he put on some more. After he did this several weeks in a row, it looked like blistered plastic. The only way i got it off was steel wool and hand scrubbing and I mean scrubbing, knee breaking scrubbing. I would NOT recommend anyone use this stuff--gwen
I have an old hardwood floor in my kitchen. I have tried various floor wax products to get that "SHINE" on my old floor. Holloway House products are the only products that give me that glossy shine without all the hard work involved. I HIGHLY recommend the products to anybody that is looking for a shiney floor.
I purchased a house that had very old hardwood flooring. I thought I would have to have all the floors refinished to get them to look nice again. I bought a bottle of Quick Shine and did all the floors. They turned out wonderful! They look restored with a high gloss shine! Quick Shine Floor Finish saved me a lot of money. I will continue to use this product and spread the word. Family & friends has commented on my hardwood floors and can't believe they were not sanded and refinished.
Just got it, but time will tell how long it lasts. lots of cheap plastic but works well. Price pays for aluminum I guess. so much flimsy plastic. I think it is the same product as the swivel sweeper. Just with different name on it.
I bought a unit a few months ago. At first it ran as advertised. It did a great job of quick cleaning. But, after only a few uses, the battery did not hold a charge and the unit runs only a couple minutes and slowly at that. Battery will not charge fully no matter if I fully discharge or not.
This is not worth buying. Another battery costs $15. + s/h and that is too much. I will toss mine in the local dump, too bad, more Chinese junk in land fill.
You can remove quick shine with deep cleaner/wax remover from holloway house, I did an they are perfect now.
Terrible product. Used the cleaner and floor finish as instructed on my laminate and hardwood floors. The finish left a terrible film on both types of floors. I have to get on my hands and knees to scrub it off. Beware.
I was cruising the net looking for a deal on quickshine for my laminate floor. After reading the feedback posted here I've decided not to buy. Thanks everyone for saving me from a nightmare.
My cleaning lady has been using the Quick Shine product on my floors for about 2 years now. I have brand new wood floors that are hand scraped and highly poly urethaned.
Recently I have noticed tiny scratches all over my floor from my tiny dogs. Then I tried everything to get the scratches off even had a company come over to give me an estimate to refinish my entire house! So, I decided to call the 1800 number on the back of the bottle and found out that this product (if you read the bottle like you should) is only supposed to be applied once every 4 months! Eeeck!
We've been doing it 8-12 times every 4 months. So, the film is so thick and if I try I can scrape out the scratches with my finger nail. The women told me to use the Hollaway House wax remover and floor re finisher. You can NOT get this in stores and you have to order it from Holloway House directly.
Be patient since it takes a while to arrive. I am supposed to get it tomorrow and I am super anxious to see if it A) ruins my floors or B) saves them! I'm hoping it's the latter! Anyone else use this product and have success with prefinished lacquered hardwood?

I used Quick Shine on Brazillian Cherry floors hardwood the shine developed white spots lime snow called the 800 no l was sent the remover. Which burnt my floors which is200sq feet l stopped will seek an attorney
Thank Goodness I read this! I kept seeing the commercial. My fiancee and I are renting a small house until ours is ready Oct 2009. I hate this little house, the floors are so dingy and the hardwood flooring is everywhere! It looks like someone has tried to stain or 'shellac' (for lack of the proper word for shining up the floor the traditional way.) I really wanted to try this Quick Shine but I have now decided against it, especially with a large breed dog. I have a feeling that this floor will end up like PlayDough. Thanks so much everyone for taking time to share your comments. It is only 8 more months of this house. I do not want to spend it brilloing Quick Shine back off the floor.

This is a tremendous product! It restores your wood floors to shiny and restored with a natural look. For those who complain, they may not have followed instructions. You have to follow the instructions! It may require a few coats but it's worth the time. Make sure to go over with a damp mop first. I use the two mop heads provided by Quick Shine in the special package for $25. You first prep the floor and then apply 2-3 coats waiting for each to dry. You have to have patience.
Guests ask me how I got my floors to look so good. It makes a real impression.
I used the Quick Shine Floor Finish. While it did leave the floors nice and shiny the first time using it...what they DO NOT TELL you on the bottle is that it IS NOT COMPATIBLE with other everyday floor cleaners. If you visit the website you will see many questions/concerns regarding this film. I too had this issue when I called the number on the bottle to find the only way to get this up is to buy one of their products off their website. I tried for several days, used a steam cleaner, several products, and hand buffed to no avail! Seems like a scheme to me! I bought the wax remover, but also let it be known that I WAS NOT HAPPY with this product and subsequent issue resolution and lack of warning on the product!
VERY HOT WATER, 11/2 gallon with 1 cup amonia. Had to scrub with plastic bristled brush after it sat for 1 minute. Comes off without scratching floor. Wipe off area with microfiber cloth so pieces dont stick on again. Worked a lot bettet than wax removets or buffer.
This product is awful! Did the wax removal worked? I need to order that too!
I use Quick Shine on my kitchen floor. I did notice the wax build up occurring but with 1 cup of Parsons ammonia and 1/2 gallon of hot water (follow instructions on ammonia) let sit for 2 minutes and it came right up! I am happy with the product but would not use it on my wood floors.
Wow, I can't believe all the negative remarks about Holloway House! I absolutely love it! It is so hard to find in stores here, I'm actually ordering in bulk from their website. I have real hardwood in part of my house and quick shine makes it shiny like a basketball court. The rest of the house has wood laminate which still gets shiny, just not that high gloss shine like the real hardwood. I have never had any problems with clouding. I recommended it to my friends and family, who also love it, and since it is now near impossible to find in our stores, they are dying to get their hands on more. I just squirt it on right from the bottle and mop it on with a $1 sponge mop from the dollar store, works fantastic!
This is NOT a floor cleaner. It is specifically made to shine floors and made with polymers. You are not supposed to clean you floors with this. You use it and forget it. You use other cleaners for your weekly or daily floor washing.
It works beautifully when used correctly.
This product is horrible. One coat ruined my laminate floors. Do not use. I am trying to get it off my floors and ordered the deep cleaner.
I love this product...I've found, however, that the key is to dilute it....a lot! I have a cleaning business and my clients love the look. But to keep it from building up and showing every scratch/footprint, dilute it...for really bad floors, start with 50-50. For maintenance, use 1 part products, 3 parts water.
Hi everyone:
I have years of experience using this product. Some words of caution:
1. Quick Shine *does* look excellent the first month, but eventually the floors will look more and more dull and you need to use more product.
2. Beware if you have floors that are very flat and even-colored because in the light you can see every little scratch. This is part of why the nice glossy look is temporary and you need to keep re-coating.
3. If you use a steam cleaner or really any basic detergent on the floor, the finish will peel off in little pieces. This will create a nasty, patchy look to your floor where parts of the floor have the Quick Shine layer and others don't.
4. The floor must be *completely* free of stains, scuff marks, debris, dust, hair, etc. before applying Quick Shine. If not, these will be trapped under the hardened layer of Quick Shine. It's almost impossible to get a floor 100% sanitary clean, so you will inevitably have stuff trapped under the layer of shine.
I will be avoiding the future use of this product because while it does look good for a little while, it actually creates more work in the future.
I purchased a home that has many coats of quick shine on ceramic tile and prefinishec hardwood flooring. The first time the tiled bathroom floors were cleaned especially around the toilets it peeled off so they needed to be stripped, fist used a strong household cleaner letting it set for about an hour (started with a 3X6 foot are + the toilet off set) scrubbed with a course deck brush, ended up using a 4 " vinyl scrapper and filled a 2 quart bucket with sludge then rinsed with hot vinegar water multiple times more sludge., after 3 1/2 hours gave up and went to Home Depot and purchased time stripper (which I was trying not to use because of the strong chemicals ) the stripper worked well on the remaining 7X6 foot area. So 5 1/2 additional hours later (scooping up buckets of sludge) I was pretty much done... now I wil deal with a PROPER TILE SEALER...next the hard wood floors are chipping off old product and streaks are any where chairs are moved they all have felt pads.. It's a large area, kitchen, hearth room, all hallways and foyer... My fear is that once I can find a product to remove the quick shine the floors will be ruined... Also have one more tile bath to go... UGH... Any thoughts ???
What to use to shine a new vinyl plank floor?
Several years ago I used Holloway House Quick Shine on 1 year old wood floors. My floors are beautiful Amish made oak with a light tint. I felt that my floors had lost their shine, so I tried "Quick Shine".
For awhile they looked great. As long as I kept my floors PERFECTLY clean there was no problem with scratches. Then my son and family with 3 children moved in with us. My grandkids like to move the chairs that around the table, and I wasn't able to sweep everyday. Now after 2 year after using that product (only 2 coats are on my floor), they look horribly scratched, especially in the sunlight. I wish I had never used this product. I just recently bought Holloway House deep cleaner. I tested it out in a few areas. At 1 cup per gallon it doesn't work so well. At 2 cups per gallon it may have preformed better, but it did not remove it. My floors are not as shiny, so the scratches are not as noticeable. I wish I had never used Quick Shine. It would have better to put a proper finish on the floors.
Ammonia will remove most store bought floor waxes like mop n glow and Hollaway.You will need to do small areas at a time as it will become very gummy.you don't want it to penetrate the hardwood floor only the wax. Start working with the dilution of half ammonia and half water and a small soft scrubby sponge apply it; let it sit for a few minutes and then scrub It Off.Note your floor will be extremely dull after stripping it all off. When all the wax is removed. As only the original polyurethane that will not come off with ammonia will be left behind, but it will get rid of any residue and will be ready for you to reapply wax or if you're planning on sanding and refinishing your floors will be ready for that too
I totally loved quick shine when I first used it. Te second time I had not washed them as good as I should have and trapped some areas of dirt. I couldn't get it clean. After reading the comments about how to clean I developed this method that works well. I mopped, then used my steam cleaner to heat the old build-up, then scrubbed. A lot less messy than using boiling water that I tried first. Yes, once I get my floor clean, really clean I plan to use it again but be more careful with my cleaning. With 2 dogs, a cat, 3 adults and a school age child we have lots to clean up after.
This is a horrible product!! I used it on my laminate floors and it left a shine; however, after several months, my floors began to have white spots all over them. I tried everything to remove them!!! I finally used their remover product which worked with a great deal of scraping and scrubbing. I spent hours and hours removing the white waxy film it left on my floors. Spare yourself a lot of hard work and pain and stay away from this product!!
Quick Shine is horrible. I had a new floor installed in August. The installers used this before they left. All I have are blotches and marks. It looks awful!
