The doctor we saw yesterday said that she has to totally cut back on all starches and I understand this. He says she has to increase her intake of fruits and veggies considerably (he basically said that is all she will be eating).

Buying a Home? Be PreparedBuying a home is a great American dream. However, too often first time home buyers (second timers too) save and pay for the purchase, but don't really plan for the ownership.

Hilarious Hints For GrandmasOne of my favorites is "Grandma Knows Best But No One Ever Listens!". The author is Mary McBride. Lots of advice for Grandmas with a lot of humor. It would make a great gift for a new Grandma-to-be or Grandma's gift for Mother's Day.

Gonzo Wonder SpongeI usually use a dry paintbrush to dust my lampshades, but I found something that worked even better. I had a shade that, even after dusting, was still grimy. I thought I was going to have to replace it, but I tried a sponge called Gonzo Wonder Sponge that is to be used dry only, not wet.

Getting Rid of Cat Urine Smell for Future Cats?We had a 10 yr old cat, who peed in several spots in my daughters room and in the upstairs hallway. I cleaned it very well, using vinegar, the smells are gone to the human nose. My fear is that even though it has been 3 yrs the new kitten may be able to smell it and think that it is OK to pee there. What do you all think?

Suggestion For Helping a Shy Dog?I adopted a shy dog on August 7, 2004. Unlike most shy dogs, her shyness happened, I am assuming, from being dumped. She began showing up at the church where I worked during the day and night. She slept at the church every night for almost six weeks.

Seeking Childbearing Advice? On the serious side, I have a precious niece who has been through all kinds of fertility treatments to no avail. This is depressing to a young couple who can offer a child a loving home and anything it could ever want. The only procedure they have not yet tried is invetro fertilization. The procedure is like $13000. Does anyone know of a clinic where they try for one price as many times as it takes to achieve success? With adoption as risky as it is today this is a scary process as well. And what can you really say to encourage someone who's seen failure time after time? You have many wonderful readers and I'm sure someone can offer helpful advice. Thanks in advance!
