Doily Fan Ornaments
You'll want to make several of these beautiful Victorian fans for your tree. Doilies come in a variety of colors, so choose one that works with the color and theme of your tree. The metallic silver and gold ones reflect the lights and are very pretty.
Christmas Candy Decorations
Basically these are objects wrapped in cellophane to look like Christmas ccndy. They can be used to decorate a wreath or in a centerpiece.
Sweet Gum Mini-Wreath
This wreath is made from the seed pods from the sweet gum tree. This is a pattern for all you Southern folks that have these seed pods to clean up every fall from your yard.
When are Kittens Ready for Solid Food?
I have 3 four-week old kittens. How do I know when they're ready for solid food?
Popcorn Tins for Waste Baskets
We always receive the popcorn tins for Christmas. I have found if you line them with a small grocery bag, they make a great garbage can for any room that needs a little something to catch trash in.
Neighbors Added Onto Our Fence without Permission
We put up a fence all around our yard. Put it 6 inches off the line. Our neighbor added onto our fence without asking us. They have 5 to 6 dogs that jump onto our fence. How can I get them to cut off our fence?
Gum on Wool Clothing
How do I get gum out of my good wool coat?
Removing Burnt Caramel from a Pan
I made caramel but it burned onto the bottom of the pan. How do you remove encrusted solid sugar/caramel from a stainless steel pot?
Books for Christmas
Christmas is a time that sparks the imagination of all who celebrate. As parents we are always looking for things to do the same thing and books can do the trick. Here is an article about shopping in one of my favorite places in the whole wide world. The used, and yes I said used, bookstore.
Leeward's Christmas Stocking Pattern
I am looking for an old Christmas Stocking pattern that I believe was put out by Leewards. My mom made them for us when we were little and has since made some for my husband and kids. Now that I have another baby in the house, she's lost the pattern!
Recipes for Breadsticks, Cookie Sticks, Etc
I'm seeking ideas for bread sticks and cookie sticks! I received a lovely lead crystal container as my first Christmas gift of 2007. The interior of the cylindrical container is just over 7" tall and about 5.25" in diameter. Although you could use it for flowers (a lot of them because the mouth is huge), I would like to put food in it, because it would be displayed very well!
Formula Can Snowman
I made this snowman out of empty formula cans and an empty pudding cup. I took empty 12 oz. and 25 oz. formula cans and painted them white.
Butterscotch Chip Cookie Recipe
Does anyone have a recipe for butterscotch chip cookies. The ones I can find are either the same as chocolate chip cookies or combine different chips.
Algebraic System For Coloring Clay
I've developed an algebraic system for creating a variety of colors for polymer and modeling clay. It's similar to the technique for mixing food coloring. What I do after conditioning the clay (I use the colors red, blue, yellow, black, and white) is form balls about 1 cm in diameter for each color.
Butter Is Better For Candymaking
When making candy to be poured into a baking dish, I find if you use butter or a buttery tasting margarine the bottom of the candy tastes better than if you'd used a non-stick cooking spray.
Dreamy Green Beans
Pour beans, soup and half of the onion rings into dish and bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and top with remaining onion rings.
Spiced Holiday Pecans
These spicy nuts will be a hit with pepper lovers.
Homemade Texas Ornaments
Here are two easy homemade ornaments. The snowman was made from a shotgun shell. Empty of course. It has a little felt cowboy hat that was purchased.
Cookies for Mrs. Claus
A few years ago after watching the TV movie "Mrs. Santa Claus" with Angela Lansbury, I realized that Mrs. Claus works just as hard as Santa! Why is she stuck home on Christmas Eve?
Cream of Chicken Noodle Soup
I cook only for myself, and try to find economical, but tasty, choices to enjoy. Now that the weather is cold, I especially like soups. Here's a different take on an old stand-by, Chicken Noodle:
Cream butter. Gradually add sugar, salt and vanilla and cream well. Blend in flour. Shape by tsp. into small balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Make Sure You Have Everything You Need For Computerized Toys
Hi, I just wanted to let everyone know if you bought your child the puppy that grows and knows your name for Christmas, please read the box as to what you need for the puppy.
Empty Formula Cans For Holding Gifts
For thrifty gifts this Christmas, I decided to make cocoa for several people on my list. Instead of buying glass containers, I saved my baby's formula cans and peeled off the labels.
Tibby and Charlie (Chihuahua Mix)
Tibby and Charlie are brother and sister. In this photo, they are in our caravan exhausted after running and playing on the beach where we keep our caravan. They are 9 years old and are a chihuahua cross. We got them from a friend 9 years ago.

Free Gift Wrap, especially if you have a sense of humour and like to travel! For wrapping gifts, at the holidays, or more especially souvenirs you bring home to friends and family from your vacation, collect the unused "barf" bags from the back pocket of your airplane seat.
