Baked SauerkrautI'm not usually a fan of sauerkraut, but this is really very good! I like the combination of other ingredients. They blend well and make the taste of the sauerkraut not seem quite so strong.

angel trumpet bush

Angel Trumpet BushThis is a angel trumpet bush, it blooms from July to here it is in late October. Don't know how long it will bloom. Last year it was in late November. The smell from this plant is wonderful. The plant, if eaten, is highly poisonous. So you need to keep kids and pets away.

Earth Day Wreath

Earth Day Wreath From Recycled MaterialsMy three kids worked on this recycled Earth Day wreath. We used cardboard from a cereal box for the base (cut in a circle and taped together). They all enjoyed gluing on the packing peanuts. I used a grocery bag for the bow.

Use Netting to Collect LintSo you left a tissue in your shirt or pants pocket and now your "dark load" is covered with bits of white; even happens with light colored loads, but never fear. Buy a yard each of light and dark netting, the cheap stuff, NOT nice tulle. Unfold and toss the appropriate shade in the dryer with your bespeckled load of laundry. It works! Use and reuse the net until it gets soft, then replace with new, stiff net. Give the "old net" to your kids or grand kids for play.

A Penny Saved is a Penny EarnedBenjamin Franklin said, "A penny saved is a penny earned." I say a dollar saved is more than a dollar earned because it generates interest and you don't need to pay taxes on it.

Using Inexpensive Cleaning Products to Save MoneyYou can use a few basics for cleaning. White Vinegar is a good streak free cleaner. I use it for a LOT. If you use it full strength for a really dirty job, test the surface in a small area first. Vinegar is basically an acid.
