Mushy BurgersMy kids love this dish. It's super easy and can be made in one pan. It's basically greenbean casserole with meat added. This one will stick to your ribs!

 

Braised Cauliflower With Oyster SauceCut cauliflower into small florets about 1-1/2 inches wide. Heat a wok or large skillet over a moderate heat. Add the oil and then add the garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for about 20 seconds to flavour the oil.

 

Fun Fried Fruit Fritter PiesRoll out canned biscuit dough on a plate lightly dusted with flour. Take 1 1/2 teaspoon fruit on rounded dough. Fold over fruit, twist edges closed.

 

Sausage Breakfast BurritosBrown the sausage and chilies together and drain. Place a small amount of cheese and about 1/8 of the ground sausage down the center of a tortilla. Roll up the tortilla and place, seam side down, in an 8x10 inch pan.

 

Dutch BunnyThis easy recipe with the fun name is a quick and scrumptious breakfast, or great for a country brunch.

 

Banana Chocolate MuffinsCombine the eggs, sugar, milk and bananas together. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and baking powder together and stir into the bananas mixture.

 

Beefy Bean 'N BiscuitHeat oven to 400 degrees F. In 10 inch oven-proof fry pan, brown ground beef, onion and green pepper. Drain grease. Add remaining ingredients except biscuit topping; simmer while preparing biscuits.

 

Melt-Away Chocolate Chip CookiesCream butter, oil and sugars well; then add rest of the ingredients. Drop by teaspoonsful on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees F for 12-15 minutes.

 

Crocheted Snail Pin CushionWith scrap or regular yarn, you can make a nice little pin cushion. I collect snails, so this was a natural for me.

 

Pom-Pom AliensThese adorable aliens are a great way to use up left-over craft supplies. A few pom-poms, chenille stems, and googly eyes is all you need to whip a little critter up. Well, those items and lots of good, old white glue!

 

Pina Colada FudgeMelt 2 lbs yellow candy base chips and 2 Tbsp. shortening over low heat in double boiler or regular pan.

 

Cleaning Jewelry and Silverware With Oil of OlayI ran out of hand cream one day so I used my pharmacy brand of Oil of Olay. I noticed a few minutes later, that where my rings were, my fingers had black tarnish marks on them. So I took my rings off and rinsed them and they were so shiny.

 

Use Stuffing Mix for MeatloafWhen making a meatloaf, try adding a package of dry stuffing mix (I use the generic brand) to your meatloaf mix instead of using breadcrumbs, oatmeal, etc. The stuffing mix contains just the right blend of herbs, and makes the meatloaf very tasty. My sons love it!

 

Campfire Roast ChickenBefore a camping trip, prepare a chicken by buttering and adding your favorite seasoning, inside and out. Then wrap it in three or four layers of aluminum foil. Put the whole thing in a gallon zipper bag, and refreeze.

Chop and Freeze Extra OnionI've wasted so many onions by only needing half of it for my meal. I put the rest of it in the refrigerator for another time, only to forget it's in there. Then I find it when it's beyond using for anything. Wasteful! I find it's better to go ahead, chop all the onion. Use what the recipe called for, and then bag up the rest of it and freeze.

 

Use Corn Starch for Rug SpotsUsing corn starch for rug spots actually works. Using a kitchen sifter, liberally apply pure corn starch to trafficked area as well as in front of sofa, chairs, etc. Leave it on 1 hour and vacuum up. It soaks up black marks very well.

 

Use Fleece Throws for Warm CurtainsFor really frugal and warm curtains, I purchased two of those fleece throws that are on sale for under $5 and used the inexpensive gold clips. The two throws fit a 76 inch picture window nicely, and they come in dark colors also nice for wintertime. Mine came with a nice cloth bow tied around it which I used for tiebacks.
