Scenery: Roses Starting to BloomIt's so pretty when the roses start to bloom. We planted this rose bush last year, and it's blooming wonderfully. Lots of buds on it yet. I love all the flowers blooming now.

 

Spray for Flying InsectsI have been using spray bottles with plain water; water and vinegar; or water and dish soap to spray on these winged flies, bees, etc. in the house. I use the spray to drop them and then go in for the kill.

 

Dehumidifier Water to Flush ToiletI use my dehumidifier water to flush the toilet. I was a little hesitant to use the water for my plants (although it may be completely fine). So, I decided every time I have a full bucket, I would bring it up from the basement and use it to flush!

 

Save Condiment PacketsWe have college students who meet here several times a week. They often stop by and pick up their dinner at some fast-food restaurant. Their bags often contain packets of ketchup, salt and pepper, Parmesan cheese, sweet and sour, etc.

 

Storing Batteries in the RefrigeratorJust yesterday as I was going to the nearest office to get some soda, I notice they had batteries in the refrigerator. I ask, "Why are there batteries in the refrigerator?"

 

Removing Mud From ShoesI discovered that if I put one quarter inch of water in the sink and let the shoes rest there for a short while, the mud softens and I can brush it off straight into the sink then wash down the drain.

 

Wash Sponges With LaundryI use a covered sponge at the bathroom sink and the kitchen sink. To keep them fresh and last longer, on laundry day, I safety pin the two together and put in with a load of laundry.
