Jim's Cowboy Cat Head BiscuitsSimple biscuits made the way they have been as long as there has been American cowboys, using the least effort necessary. Made using nothing, but self-rising flour, lard, and milk or other liquid. They come out the shape of a cat's head, thus the name.

 

Southern Pecan PiePecan pie is one of my favorites. My father used to make them when I was a child. This is a recipe based on one in an old cookbook that belonged to him. My daughter and I made this version for Christmas and decided to add the leaf motif around the outer edge. Hope you enjoy it.

Painting Laminate Countertops?I painted my laminate kitchen countertops using a Giani paint kit. They look fantastic, but I wanted more protection, plus a glossier look, than the poly top coat that came with the kit. I did apply two top coats of the Giani poly, and because I wanted them really glossy, I used Envirotex Lite, a 2 part hypoxy.
