My cat seams happy and content, she sleeps above my pillow everynight. My husband always rubbs her head when he gets into bed. Lately he noticed she shakes her head when he does it and there is a lot of fluid in her ears, some actually comes out. Does anyone have any feedback on this?

This same thing was happening with my cat who seemed otherwise contented. I would find big drops on the tile floor that looked almost like someone had dripped coffee. Then I noticed my cat shaking her head and I felt drops. Took her to the vet and found out she had a bad infestation of ear mites, even though she was an indoor cat and never went outside. The vet was able to give her a one-time treatment in the office that worked very well. Best wishes to you -- pw.
do you haven't to recall what that treatment or med was called? My vet isn't hitting the mark on this just a lot of guessing,that's not cutting it.
If your cat has ear mites it looks like coffee grounds in the ears sometimes with blood. Put an eye dropper full (teaspoon) into each ear of mineral oil (pure, nothing else in it), spread it around inside the ear by rubbing it. Every day once per day, mites are gone in about a week, maybe longer depending on how bad the condition is. No harm to cats who wash their ears and ingest whatever you put in their ears (safer than chemical/drug combo from vet I would think). Did this with a cat at the cat shelter and it worked perfectly.
same thing happened with mine. If there is dark wax in the ears it is probably ear mites. Opt for the one time medication from the vet rather than the continous drops.
Catch this now before inner ear infection happens. This cleaner also removes moisture from ears that cause infections. Go to Walmart or Kmart in the animal section. They have a great cat/dog ear cleaner that cleans, kills mites and takes out any moisture that could cause inner ear infections. Its about 3 dollars a bottle. Put about 4-5 drops inside ears and then rub well. If they are super dirty very gently rub with a damp wash cloth then use ear cleaner.
We all know what it feels like to have ear infections and they cannot tell us. If this still happens after a couple of days get her to a vet or local humane society which is very reasonable and get her ears checked please.
My cat just has dirt and liquid, no ear mites. A vet has already checked twice. I can't afford a vet right now but I read that Vinager and water solution might help, is this true?
The mineral oil fix above sounded way better than the vinegar - That would be incredibly painful as well as putting ACID inside the ear canal. Use the small amount of mineral oil instead. I like vinegar, but use it raw on sunburns (quick fix) not in anyone's ear!

Help sustain mites. Vinegar dries fluid alcohol kills bacteria and together can clear ear infection and mites.
Try colloidal silver (Sovereign silver brand is best) you can put it in a spray bottle and spray in ears and/or can be added to their wet food or water. It's healed my cats lifelong ear infections when the vet couldn't heal it.
Take cat to veterinarian.
