I have made a couple of door rugs for muddy boots by using bags--I just cut them into 2-3 inch strips and use a large needle. One I made by just crocheting a large circle, the other a large granny square. I used no patterns.

I take all kinds of plastic bags, strip them in 1/2 inch strips and make costers out of them and small rugs in front of sink and in bathroom They are real pretty when finished. You can use the ones from the store, some have red print some blue print and some bags are yellow. You can mix and match them and have a colorful rug. Also use bags from papers and bread wrappers. Crochet them. Just start with either round center or oblong center just depends on what you like. Use a single stitch and add stitches as needed. (05/28/2009)
