Put making lye soap into your search engine and you will get directions (octagon soap is lye soap). It is not hard to do, just be careful when using the lye.
Hope this helps.

All bar soap is made with lye, even the "natural" kind. Liquid soap is made with potash. Soap that is not made with a caustic alkaline chemical is not soap, it is a synthetic detergent. Fortunately the caustic is "used up" by the oils and fats that make the other half of the soap recipe, so there should be no active lye in the finished product.

Body soap is "superfatted" by adding a little extra oil to make it mild. Household and laundry soap is much less superfatted. Look for recipes online that are specifically for "laundry soap" or "household cleaning soap" for examples. Do not attempt to adjust a homemade body soap recipe yourself unless you are familiar with calculating saponification ratios.
