Uses for Jam or Preserves

Silver Post Medal for All Time! 297 Posts

You can add grape jelly or preserves (or whatever flavor you choose) to smoothies, yogurt, smoothies, pancakes, waffles, french toast, cottage cheese, oatmeal, ice cream, or muffins. For ice cream topping, heat the preserves in the microwave first. Add preserves to cream cheese to top a bagel, biscuit, scone or toast.

You can also add preserves to pie dough. Just roll the dough into a small ball, and make an imprint in the dough and bake. You can bake the rolled out pie crust first, then spread the jelly on, or roll out thin in a rectangle and spread with a thin layer of jelly. Top with another piece of the dough and seal the edges with a fork. Bake until golden.
