Stretching Shake 'n Bake

"Shake N Bake" for chicken and pork makes for a good meal yet is expensive! Instead of pouring the package of "Shake N Bake" seasonings into the shaking bag and putting the pieces of chicken or pork in afterward (as the instructions read) simply open up the bag flat and pour the "Shake N Bake" on the flat surface.

Then put pieces on top of the seasoning and proceed to turn the pieces over covering them completely. The seasoning goes a lot further this way.

Shake n bake tastes great, but the homemade I think is even better. ALOT cheaper too.

Thanks for this good idea. I like Shake 'n Bake (and it is so easy to add to chicken or pork chops).

I make my own. I have several different recipes: one for chicken, one for pork, an Italian one, a standard one, one for potatoes, and a few others. I save bread ends, dry, and use them for bread crumbs--the basis of most recipes.

I usually make 3-4 recipes of each and keep them in the cupboard in a mason jar, so I have them whenever I need them.

hi I quit using shake and bake along time ago instead I just get the plain breadcrumbs or the itialian ones and use them with the plain ones you can add what ever you want. You can also use instance potato flakes or crackers crumbs or whatever you have on hand. Also try dipping the meat in egg first real good too. Also hubby says I make the best chicken around. Just run with it and you will never know how it will turn out.
