Retrieving Clothes that Have Fallen

We live in buildings on the tenth floor, we have to dry wet clothes on the balcony. We do clip them, so that they do not fall down, but some times they do. Then they are stuck on any of the parapets below. So to retrieve them back, I have attached a fish hook to a long string. I have been able to retrieve my extra large curtain (which had fallen off) with that.

How clever! This would be useful for people who drop things on their own floor but are too arthritic to bend over that far, too!

Dear Mustafa
Have you thought of DOUBLE pinning [with 2 clothes pins?] it would insure that your clothes stays on the line better,on a real windy day we use to have to double pin and we had 2 different kinds of pins. the straight kind made of 1 piece of wood and the 2 pieces with a spring in the middle. it would be easier than having to retrieve them from someplace.
