Masa Meal Mornings

If you like hot breakfast cereals, try making corn porridge, Mexican style, using dried masa meal. It's more nutritious in B vitamins than corn grits, very inexpensive, and fast.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1/3 cup dried masa
  • 1 ounce of processed cheese
  • salsa or picante sauce to taste

Directions

Boil water. Add masa and stir immediately with whisk to break up lumps. Reduce heat and stir frequently until thickens in a few minutes. Add cheese cubes and stir until melted and blended in. Divide into 2 bowls and top with salsa or picante sauce as desired.
