Have you tried Capital One? Whatever credit card you may get, you need to be aware that you will pay a significantly higher interest rate for quite some time, until the company is satisfied that you are and will continue to be regular with your payments. Also, always try to pay more than the minimum payment! Even if it's only a dollar over the minimum, you're attacking the principal so you will pay less in finance charges. Good luck!

Try Providian. They helped me. But as was said earlier, you will pay close to 20% APR.

If you REALLY need a credit card, you may try one of the deposit types (you get a credit limit equal to the amount you deposit).

Paying the balance in full every month is a much better way to re-establish good credit. Only charge what you can afford. Carrying credit card balances is how people get in over their head.

Most banks offer a secured credit card for people who have bad credit or want to build credit but have no history. You have to put down a deposit, but after 6-12 months of good payments, it's returned to you.

I would never use Capital One, if your even just a little late on 1 payment, even if you pay on time every other time, they will raise your interest rate to the moon. Just my personal opinion. I think I'd try a bank first.

I went bankrupt 2 yrs ago, and since I got the Providian mastercard. With timely payments they automatically boost your credit limit, and you have free access to your credit score.

After 2 yrs, I now have very good credit.

Try www.imaginecard.com my husband and I tried it and they are pretty good. You have to have a valid checking account and you will pay up from\nt $4.95 for a processing fee and also $15.00 which will be charged on the credit card. They will automatically deduct your monthly payments from your checking account in the amount of $15.00. The interst rate is 19.75% but I really like it because we pay it off as we charge and we have seen our credit go higher. Hope that this helps...

Check out http://www.creditcardmix.com or http://www.cardfusion.com. Those guys have special credit cards for bad credit categories in their catalogs.

They also have prepaid and secured credit card offers, if you are interested.

Capital One is by far the best company for people with fair or average credit. They have a lot of different offers, some which have reasonable interest rates, but high fees. Others have higher interest rates but lower fees. You can learn more about these at smartcreditchoices.com/capital-one.php

I will also give Capital One a try. They are well known to be pretty fair towards customers that are looking for a bad credit cards. Keep in mind that you do not want to cause yourself more mess and if you can't pay off the bills that comes with the card don't either sign up for it.
