Leather Suite Cleaning?

Bronze Request Medal for All Time! 65 Requests

I have acquired an old leather suite, which I have tried cleaning as the dirt is ground in. I have cleaned it with white vinegar and olive oil with a few drops of lemon oil, but this didn't work. Can anyone help me with this? Many thanks.

You could try baby wipes if they are available in the UK. They are packaged wipes made for cleaning a baby during a diaper change.

I would try saddle soap, which is made for cleaning leather. It should be available in any large grocery store, or Walmarts type store. Good luck.

Have you tried leather wipes? Widely available in most supermarkets. I purchased mine from Asda. I tried baby wipes but found they dried the leather out and left a dull smear.Hope this is a help. Jan UK

Can anyone give me any advice on how to clean a leather suite? I bought a leather suite 2 years ago and I made a big mistake buying the suite in an egg-shell color. Now the suite is quite discolored. I have bought leather cleaners but I don't find them much good.

I have a cream leather suite. I hire out a steam cleaner which I find fantastic. I then polish with Vaseline, or for a nice fragrance, use eucalyptus oil. Looks brand new when finished. Good luck. (10/24/2004)

I bought some stuff called No Bull Leather Cleaner for my pure snow white leather chair. It worked like a charm. I found it on Ebay (04/02/2006)

I was recently told to mix 2 parts of linseed oil (from a hardware store) and 1 part white vinegar. Put it on with a soft cloth. Leave it on for about 12 hours then buff with a clean soft cloth. (07/12/2007)
