Looking For Powdered Egg Replacement Recipe?

I am looking for an egg replacement recipe. I don't mean like Egg Beaters, which are a liquid, but a powdered egg replacement that could be used in baking.

FYI

ENER G
Egg Replacer

I found this powdered egg product in the health food section of a large grocery store. Also contact a health food store in your area and see if they carry this product.

You can buy this product at most larger Health Food Stores. I lived for many years off & on without electricity, so I kept a box of this stuff in my cupboard just in case I needed it & my friend always baked with this stuff because her daughter was allergic to eggs.

You usually use 1 teaspoon of the power for each egg you are replacing.

You can also use one heaping Tbs of soy flour and 1 Tbs of water in place of an egg for baking.

I use Flax seed as an egg replacer. 1 Tablespoon of Flax seed, plus 3 tablespoons of water equals one egg.

Flax seed is a very good way to get omega-3 into your diet so as those above me have said that is what I use. Grind the seeds in a coffee grinder then add the water.

This is what I use for my baking. It is much like the ENER G egg replacer. I use a quart jar with a tight lid. Put in the jar: 1 Cup Potato starch, 3/4 Cup tapioca starch, and 2 tsp. baking powder.

Mix well. Mixing, take 1 1/2 tsp mix and add 2 Tab. water. This equals 1 egg in binding power. Press the powder firmly in measure spoon. For 1 yolk use 1 1/2 tsp mix plus 1 Tab water. It works good for 1 or 2 eggs, but more than that don't work very well. I find the potato starch and tapioca starch at a Asian market.

Meringue Powder - Adds body to royal icing, meringue, boiled icing; stabilizes buttercream. Replaces egg white in many recipes. Resealable top opens completely for easy measuring. Certified Kosher. I have used this product and it beats up just like regular egg whites.

From www.Wilton.com or they probably have it or can get it for you at your local Michaels Craft Store. If you go to the web site and type Meringue Powder in the search box you can see what the sizes and cans look like.
