Fill Your Bird Feeders

Just a little reminder to fill your bird feeders this winter. Many birds may fly south, but those in the northern states have birds come in the winter, too. Add a birdseed bell and suet blocks on a low branch near the feeder and you can enjoy watching the little birds come to feed on bitter snowy winter days. Here is a photo of a male cardinal that comes to my feeder along with his mate, all year round!

Great timely notice. Although I feed my birds all year round - breeding season is important too.
Some tips:
Try to buy your wild bird seed in bulk.
If you use a table or other platform mix seed with kitchen scraps, especially fruit, fat and veg.
If you use more than one hanging feeder spread them around; birds tend to fight over "their" feeder.

Watch out for four legged visitors - squirrel proof feeders are available; but use only if needed.
Keep an eye on the water - refresh when neccessary.

We have 2 birdfeeders and fill every day. Enjoy watching all different birds especially the cardinals which represent souls that have past.
We also have squirrel feeders and have several nests in our trees
