I painted my kitchen countertops and they look fantastic. I have applied 4 coats of high gloss water-based polyacrylic. The texture seems bumpy and I was hoping for a smooth, glossy finish. I saw where a couple of people said that they sanded between coats of poly. Do you think I could still sand and get the look that I want?

you probably didn't allow enough drying time between coats. allow 48 hrs for very best results, longer if the weather is hot and humid or damp. you can still lightly sand (with fine sandpaper) the rough parts and put down one more coat.
Hi Dawn! What type finish were your countertops before you painted?? I am looking to remodel my kitchen and would love to paint mine....they are a laminate........wonder if it would accept paint??
I also read somewhere to be sure not to shake the poly because it creates bubbles.
My counters were laminate too. I cleaned them first w/ Comet. Then primed with Kilz. Used a satin base coat-2 coats, followed by a faux finish with 4 glazes. Then topped with 4 coats of polyacrylic. Since I posted my question I sanded them with 180 grit paper and reapplied another coat of poly.
