Iron Left Imprint on Velour Fabric?

I tried to iron down a flower on a black velour bag, but it left the shape of the iron head on my material. How can I get that out please?

I am sorry to tell you but you can't because the fabric has been melted/burned. :-(

Maybe you could cover the burn mark with some black lace cut into a flower shape or a leaf or a shadow shape of the flower. To attach the lace you could hand sew it to the purse with small stitches that only go through the first layer.

Pretty little black buttons or beads might look good too.

You may have not burned and ruined the fabric. Unfortunately, you cannot iron any velour/ velvet/ velveteen fabric because of the nap of the fabric. Since you tried to apply an applique (flower) with direct heat, you may have ruined the bag. Place the bag on an ironing board, cover with a thick terrycloth towel, and hold a steam iron over the bag. Do not place the iron directly on top of the towel (which will crush the nap), hold it over, but very close, to the top of the towel.

You are attempting to allow the steam to raise the fabric pile of the cloth to its original position. The fluffy towel is providing an air space for the steam to penetrate the fabric. Be patient. Work the steam in a little at a time. This may or may not work, but would be worth a try. Good luck.
