Sealing Chipped Paint on Old Doors?

I found some old cabinet doors in my late father-in-law's garage. They look so cool, paint chipping and distressed. I would like to display these (2) and or use them in some way. I thought about shelving, but do not want the paint to chip anymore. It looks so good the way they are. Any suggestions?

If you used them as shelves, wouldn't you only see the edges?

Could you hinge them together and display them that way?

This is what I did with mine. Once you find what you want to do, seal them well with spray shallac to protect that shabby chic look.
