Easing Stress

If you have a problem ask yourself will this matter next week, next month, next year, etc. If you do this you will realize that the problem often is not as serious as you may think, so you need not worry so much.

It's really worth asking yourself, "Is this a lump in my gravy or a lump in my breast?" We do tend to go to pieces over the small stuff.

Hey but what if it is serious stress! I am 37 and am married to a great guy who really wants kids. Trouble is, I don't! I never have! I dont' have that motherly instinct. I love my dogs like they were kids though!
He knew this before we got married but he says he always thought I'd change my mind.
I love him so much, but how do I do something that i am absolutely horrified of! I am horrified of pregnancy, child birth and then raising a child cuz I don't really have that motherly instinct.

I said all of this to say that I have stress and it is real! It ain't a lump of gravy! LOL

The people weren't saying stress isn't real. They were suggesting to try to keep things in perspective. I know for myself I tend to fret over things that don't matter: The car had a flat tire, my son stuck something up his nose, I burned dinner, someone said something I didn't like, and on and on.

Those things are easily remedied. They were suggesting to know the difference between a small thing and a big thing, not saying there's no such thing as stress,

I cannot tell you how many times I worried about something and it turns out to have been a waste of time because it was resolved easily. I like another idea too about the worrier who thinks of things and keeps them awake, keep a notepad and light by the bed nightstand and write it down as it comes in your mind and it is now on paper and you can attend to it tomorrow.

I like the saying...Too Blessed to be Stressed.
More often than not, daily stuff that stresses us (kids acting up, some appliance breaking down) would be a blessing for someone else. I think about this when my sons throw a tantrum, or the computer acts up in the middle of my schoolwork.

I am going through the "lump in my breast now" but worrying about that won't make it go away. My job is to worry about those small blessings, and appreciate them...let God take care of the big stuff.

It's a proven fact that 80% of what we worry about never happens.....Worry is like rocking in a rocking chair...no matter how much you worry or how fast you rock.......you still aren't gonna get any where......

Someone once told me......"We are all right where our Higher Power WANTS us to be!" Don't sweat the small stuff....The small things will take care of themselves.....As for the big bad patches in the road....they have a way of taking care of themselves too...Don't let anyone(human) push you into any thing that is absolutely wrong for you....If it's your Higher Power doing the pushing ....Go with it...Cause He/She knows what's right....I've lived my life on these simple precepts....These and the sure knowlege that 80% of what we worry about NEVER happens any way....Blessings....

Wow, been awhile since I've checked others.....

Good news: not malignant, but found out so much info and became so aware that I am taking better care of my health now! Got it removed fine and it was large, will not divulge more detail, lest weak stomachs are reading. But now I am catching up on my housework from moving in...6 months ago! SO my youngest turns one year on 2/17, and what a crazy year...three moving trips, including one with a fire, baby, baby with siezures, potty training my older, and that lump to "top it." Talk about tests! Now I am praying for Publisher's Clearing House to knock on my door.....doesn't hurt to ask! lol
