Make Your Own Dog Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup corn meal
  • 1/2 cup soy flour
  • 1/2 cup sunflower or pumpkin seeds
  • 1 tsp. iodized salt
  • 1 tsp. bonemeal
  • 2 Tbsp. corn oil or soy oil
  • 1/4 cup unsulfured molasses
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk

Directions:

Beat eggs and milk in a small mixing bowl.

Then in a large mixing bowl, mix together all dry ingredients and mix.

Add oil, malasses and all but 1 Tbsp. of the milk and egg mixture to the dry ingredients.

Knead until you have a firm dough, add a little more milk if needed. Let the dough sit for 30 minutes or more.

Roll out dough 1/2 inch thick and brush with the remaining egg/milk. Cut into biscuit sized pieces.

Bake on a cookie sheet at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes for soft biscuits. For harder biscuits, turn off the oven and let the them sit for another hour in the hot oven.
